The Consulate-General of Japan at Denver and Colorado Japanese Language Education Association (CJLEA) are pleased to announce the 24th Annual Colorado Japanese Speech Contest. Visits to other institutions will also be planned according to the interests of individual participants. Moreover, the program includes some activities for enhancing participants' understanding of Japanese society, such as social events with the local community, field trips, etc. Hence it is essential for participants to have a specific and concrete theme for their work/study/research and to be independent and willing enough to design and plan their major field-related activities to be carried out outside the Institute. Through these activities, participants are expected to develop practical Japanese language skills. The program also enables participants to carry out various kinds of activities such as visits to other institutions, interviewing professionals, etc. The program focuses on Japanese language proficiency necessary for specialized work or research activities, and aims to assist participants acquire Japanese language skills necessary to collect and present information in their major fields and network with people in their fields. Moreover, the program includes some activities for enhancing participants' understanding of Japanese society, such as social events with the local community, field trips, etc.ĭuration (tentative): September, 2011 - March, 2012 Optional lessons are also offered to meet individual Japanese language needs for specialized work purposes and academic research activities. The program focuses on general Japanese language proficiency and aims to assist participants improve their speaking, hearing, reading, and writing skills. This program is primarily a LANGUAGE course for specialists (Researchers, Postgraduate Students, Librarians, Museum Curators, etc.) requiring Japanese language proficiency for specialized work and research activities. In addition to Kendo practice, Homma Kancho supports the development of all traditional Japanese martial arts in the Denver.Japan Foundation announces the Support Program for Overseas Learners of Japanese-LanguageĪpplications for “Specialists in Cultural and Academic Fields” are being accepted. Many champions have stayed at Nippon Kan during the tournaments and as Homma Kancho always has said, “If they eat my cooking, they will win!” ![]() While in Denver for the Sabaki Challenge, these graduate Enshin uchideshi and their students always stay at Nippon Kan which offers them a place to train, and good food prepared by Homma Kancho himself. Every year they return to Denver with their students for this annual international karate challenge. Many of these Enshin uchideshi have returned to Japan after their training and opened dojos of their own. Homma Kancho has always taken good care of the Enshin uchideshi over the years and generations of Enshin uchideshi that have trained in Denver have benefited from Homma Kancho’s advice and support. The 38th Annual Sabaki Challenge Karate Tournament is hosted every year by Enshin Karate, Joko Ninomiya Kancho in Denver ( Enshin Karate’s international headquarters is in Denver and students from Japan and many parts of the world have come to Denver to train under Ninomiya Shihan as uchideshi (live-in) students.
